I am a Sports and Clinical massage Therapist with training in pregnancy massage, myofascial release, exercise rehabilitation and TRE (tension and trauma release exercises). I take a consultation to understand your reasons for seeking treatment and health history. This informs a treatment tailored to you and your needs. You do not need to be a sports person to get the benefit of a good targeted massage. Massage therapy has benefits for physical and mental health.
I think massage can have a place for everyone. In the simplest terms, touch soothes and calms. It can return you to your para sympathetic nervous system, the part of your nervous system that cues healing, growth and connection. Yes we need movement and strengthening to adapt the tissues but we also need rest and recovery. In my experience of working with others and my own chronic pain, getting the balance between stimulus and recovery is key.
I regularly work with – back pain – neck pain – shoulder impingement and pain – frozen shoulder – hip and pelvis pain – headaches- jaw pain- knee pain – ankle and foot pain – nerve pain – anxiety and depression – chronic stress and fatigue – pregnancy and post natal aches – scars.
