We are a community coworking and creative events space based in Edinburgh. To be more precise, we are based in the community of Portobello, Edinburgh’s seaside. We are a collection of social entrepreneurs, freelancers, charities, SMEs and enterprises. From photographers to translators, graphic designers to environmental consultants, we have over 140 members and provide office, studios, permanent desk and hot desking. Tribe is big on building community and believes that a nurturing environment which sparks creativity and collaboration is good for business, individuals and communities. At Tribe, you will also find a strong community of female run enterprises through our partner, Keystone, as well as The Edinburgh Tool Library, Velow Bikeworks, Portobello Natural Health, Sodak, The Pilates Studio Edinburgh and more. Tribe Porty is proudly a social enterprise.
Don’t forget our monthly coffee mornings, every first Tuesday of the month, 930-1030am. We also have social lunch every Thursday from around 1230-130pm in reception. Be sure to sign up to our newsletter for all of the events and social gatherings.

Our Annual Report gave us not only a chance to look ahead, but reflect and ensure we are driving our manifesto forward.
We will continue to be a community for people to just be or to express their needs, challenges and dreams. Our door is always open and we have had countless conversations about life, loss, loneliness and hopes. Tribe provides a space for light connections as well as deep conversations; both which are often lifelines for people.

What do you like about Tribe the most?
The community! This is often the hardest thing to get right in a shared space, but the sense of openness and the welcoming atmosphere seems to come naturally to Tribe. The kitchen chats, lunches where we discuss and possibly solve the world’s problems, and general friendliness from everyone here make Tribe a true gem.
What makes you smile and what do you do here?
Cat memes, dry humour and good friends. Firstly, who doesn’t smile when presented with a cat meme? It is probably the only good thing social media has given us. Most of the time I run a small agency in South Africa that helps B2B tech businesses grow.
