How did you come to Tribe?

Like all the best things in life, I came to Tribe quite by accident. Having just moved from Cape Town, I was looking for a space, that was not my couch, to get some work done and meet some locals. Over the course of several months, I tested some of Edinburgh’s co-working spaces and hadn’t quite found what I was looking for.  Then on one sunny Saturday morning while in search of a bicycle shop, I stumbled upon Tribe. The rest shall we say is history…

What makes you smile?

Cat memes, dry humour and good friends. Firstly, who doesn’t smile when presented with a cat meme?  It is probably the only good thing social media has given us. My wife describes my sense of humour as childish. She’s 100% correct. I find the silliest thing belly achingly funny, and I’m happy with that. Lastly, being in good company amongst friends, family and co-workers is always a treat.

What do you like about Tribe most?

The community! This is often the hardest thing to get right in a shared space, but the sense of openness and the welcoming atmosphere seems to come naturally to Tribe. The kitchen chats, lunches where we discuss and possibly solve the world’s problems, and general friendliness from everyone here make Tribe a true gem.

What are you working on right now?

Marketing, a start-up and my golf swing. Most of the time I run a small agency in South Africa that helps B2B tech businesses grow. I am also involved with a start-up called Strumfox, which is taking a new approach to teaching kids guitar, making it more accessible and fun. And then there is perhaps the most stressful thing I’m working on, my golf swing. Let’s just say it’s a little up and down.
