Music & Storytelling for Early Years
Twilight, the gloaming, the lullaby hour – snuggle down on the soft forest floor and gaze upwards as day turns to night and darkness becomes full of lights and glowing things. Watch out and listen for the songs and stories of the creatures of the woods; the ones that live in the tree and the ones that live on the ground, the ones you can see and the ones you can only imagine…
The Lullabies Collective features Ruth Barrie, Sarah McFadyen, Joel Sanderson and Juliana Capes, artists and musicians who have been working together over the last 2 years to produce collaborative environments for performing arts.
Inspired by our own childhoods and bedtime stories involving magical trees, we recreate a tree canopy under which our themed house band play lullabies, tell stories and offer bubble baths. We have already presented this project for children at Kelburn Garden Party and Belladrum Festival and in 2015 will be taking the project to Shambala Festival.
the Little house of La
Music for children and families
‘the most unique and captivating musical experience for little ones that we have ever experienced’ Emily Cutts, The Children’s Wood
The Little House of La play music for children and their carers to dance to. They perform original songs and also well loved classics that encompass many styles – From Saint Saens’ ‘Carnival of the Animals’ to ‘Apeman’ by the Kinks.” The band features three of the original members from indie-pop band Aberfeldy, so expect some lovely harmonies, groovy beats and lots of fun.
