INTRODUCTION

Mindfulness is simply paying attention to our present moment experiences with openness, curiosity and a willingness to be with what is. It is now very well documented how a structured mindfulness course like this can benefit you in all aspects of your life.

This course aims to help you cultivate this art of presence in a very relaxed and fun way while subsequently bringing about many positive changes in your physical & mental health, relationships and overall well-being. Specific benefits to health include helping you to relax more, improve concentration and sleep & helping you to feel more fully alive.

This course is free and is suitable for anyone from total beginners or for those who want to deepen an already established practice and or/explore a more zen approach.

ABOUT

This 8 week structured course was created by Daizan Roshi, a British zen master now based at Zenways in London and is rooted in the principles and techniques of Bompu Zen (Zen purely for health and well being).

Throughout the course you will explore sitting, lying down and walking mindfulness meditation techniques and also some gentle Qigong exercises. Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures & breathing techniques. All of these techniques are all very accessible and easy to learn.

THE 8 WEEK PROGRAMME

Week 1: Introduction/Orientation

Week 2: Stress

Week 3: Meditation & Mindfulness on Physical Pain

Week 4: Emotional Stress, Anxiety and Depression

Week 5: Role Stress and Time Pressure

Week 6: Taking Care of Yourself

Session 7: Elevated Function

Session 8: Changing Your Life

Daily practice is a vital component, so to get the maximum benefit from the course, participants are asked to commit to 25 minutes of seated meditation a day.

A BIT ABOUT JAYNE

Jayne is a Student Meditation teacher with Zenways. She is also a professional singer and runs a business here in Edinburgh. Jayne started meditating around 10 years ago and now has a daily regular practice and enjoys passing on the benefits of meditation to others.

“Meditation has provided me with invaluable tools for my life. It can really help you to feel happier, more relaxed, present, able to cope better with overwhelm and stress and to allow you fully appreciate what is good in your life when it is happening….

Though meditation I learned that although we can’t change what happens to us in this life, we can change our relationship to it. This for me is the powerful and potentially life changing impact of Meditation”.

Whatever is going on for you right now, big or small, Meditation can help you in many ways including helping you feel happier, healthier, calmer & more fully alive in your life. Take the first step by joining me on this free course on the 10th of October.
