I first tried yoga as a teen, and although I went to yoga classes through both of my pregnancies I only developed a more regular yoga practice after my children were born. I’ve tried different styles over the years but I currently practice Ashtanga yoga, and this is a strong influence in my vinyasa classes.

I completed teacher training last year and I currently assist in the morning Mysore room at Meadowlark yoga as well as running a class at my ‘day job’ at Sustrans, where lots of my colleagues who cycle, walk and run regularly come to stretch and relax on a Friday.
I practice for the awareness it brings to mind and body – which allows me to recognise what I need to progress, strengthen or heal. Every body (and mind) is different but I think yoga is a great tool for almost everyone who tries it, whether you just want to stretch out tight hamstrings, want it to be a ‘moving meditation’ or want to gain strength and flexibility in body or mind.
My aim is to provide a welcoming class where more people can get confident about stepping on the mat and giving yoga a go at a pace that is right for them, and I hope that they can get the same enjoyment and energy that I get from my practice.
